Chris was born in Folkestone, Kent and went to school in Dover. After two years of working in a bank in Hythe he decided to leave Kent and follow a sea going career.
He joined the Merchant Navy where his love of ships grew with his nautical training. He worked on all classes of ships before qualifying as a Master Mariner in 1990 whilst he was working with P&O Ferries in Dover.
With the advent of digital photography Chris’ interest in the art grew, as did his portfolio, and in recent years he has won several photographic competitions with maritime submissions.
He currently lives in Brook, Kent with his wife and two teenage sons. Here he enjoys country living and photographing flowers, animals and country scenes to add to his otherwise mainly maritime portfolio.
